McDonald Hopkins welcomes paralegal Gabriel (Sam) Groves to federal government contracting team

CHICAGO  — Gabriel (Sam) Groves, a former Department of Defense and United States Air Force contracting professional with over 30 years of federal contracts education, training, leadership, and management experience, has joined McDonald Hopkins as a paralegal in the firm’s Federal and Local Government Contracting & Procurement practice group.

Groves is an experienced and well-known contracting professional spent who spent 35 years with the Department of Defense as a United States Air Force Contracting Specialist. Groves was the Chief of the Construction Contracting Flight at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, where she oversaw all civil engineering services, construction, SABER, architectural-engineering services, and infrastructure maintenance contacts and was responsible for 20 civilian and military contract administrators/ buyers. Her contracting experience runs the gamut from construction procurement, major weapons systems and Foreign Military Sales Special Assistance services, to base installation contracts.

After retiring from the Department of Defense, Groves has been serving as a consultant to various federal contracting firms, most recently as a senior business consultant for the Phoenix Minority Business Development Agency Business Center, where she provided strategic business consulting services and assistance to minority owned businesses in the areas of planning, management, marketing and in obtaining federal government procurement opportunities.
