Ohio State’s improbable run to the national championship did every bit as much, and maybe more, for the Focus 3 brand as it did for Cardale Jones’ NFL stock.

The Columbus leadership consultants, Tim Kight and his son, Brian, hired by Urban Meyer in 2013 were credited by the Ohio State coach for the intensive work they did with the program.

Meyer, as he’s said many times since the Buckeyes defeated Alabama and Oregon to win the first College Football Playoff, believes the winning culture that Focus 3 helped to build was the key to his team’s success.

Carl Grassi, firm president of McDonald Hopkins LLC, was a big believer in Focus 3 well before the Buckeyes, led by Jones, knocked off No. 1 Alabama and The Wall Street Journal wrote an interesting story that detailed how Meyer became so invested in Tim Kight’s E+R=O (event plus response equals outcome) mantra.
