McDonald Hopkins welcomes Manisha P. Reddy to Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Department of the firm’s Chicago office

CHICAGO – Manisha P. Reddy has joined McDonald Hopkins LLC as an associate in the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group.

Reddy will practice in the city where she earned her J.D. in 2019 at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. In the last year, she gained experience in the cyber field while working as an associate at a firm with over 800 attorneys throughout the U.S. and London. Reddy focused on counseling business entities with data privacy law compliance and through regulatory investigations prior to and in the aftermath of data security incidents.

Reddy also advised clients of all sizes and industries through data breaches and potential data security incidents, where she worked closely with local, state and federal law enforcement, forensic investigators and third-party cybersecurity vendors to offer her clients efficient and effective breach response services in compliance with various data security and privacy laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the CCPA, COPPA, FERPA, GLBA, HIPAA/HITECH, and GDPR.

While in law school, Reddy was a licensed senior law student, advocating for children in court as a guardian ad litem at the Loyola University Community Law Center Clinic. From 2017-2019 she competed on an international mediation team, competing in both the US and Europe. She also served as senior editor of the Journal of Regulatory Compliance from 2018-2019. In 2017, she served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Sara L. Ellis in the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Reddy earned a B.A. in political science in 2015 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
