News

In her role as ARPA consultant retained by Huron County Commissioners to navigate the intricacies of the American Rescue Plan of 2021, McDonald Hopkins attorney Amanda Gordon was quoted by Norwalk Reflector reporter Mike Magnuson in his March 29, 2021 article "Could Rescue Plan money be osed for new senior center?"

As Magnuson reported, the commissioners "approved the acceptance of $10 million of the $11.3 million in funds from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 under the act's Revenue Loss Standard, and discussed several uses for the funds."

"You're kinda shooting a bit in the dark," Gordon said, noting that further research will be required to decide where certain uses of the money fit into those categories. She praised the commissioners for being among the first boards of commissioners in Ohio to adopt a resolution to accept the money under the act's standards.
